If you would like to meet Thor please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
We recommend a home without kids as he can get nervous.
Medium - playful and energetic. He needs a daily walk.
How is this dog on a lead?
Like most dogs Thor is ok unless he sees something exciting and then he can get excited. He could pull a small child over.
How is this dog off the lead?
Thor must not be allowed off the lead – he takes off and does not respond to commands to return.
Thor will take advantage of an opening and take off on an adventure. He needs a secure yard and gates or doors cannot be left open.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
Tolerance to being alone.
Yes. However, preference will be given to folks who are not too time poor. We don’t want Thor sleeping his life away.
Belly rubs, head scratches, cuddling on the couch and food are among his favourite things. But most of all he likes being with the people he loves – Thor is extremely affectionate.
Loud, sudden noises and raised voices frighten him. He is not fond of water either.
Thor will appeal to many households but ideally he will be happiest in a home where he is the only pet so he can have all your attention.
Thor will not suit homes where residents are young, frail, elderly or time poor.
Experience with the breed is strongly advised.
Thor needs lots of TLC. He will shower you with kisses and give you a little nudge or roll onto you when he feels you aren’t paying him enough attention. He does not like his bottom touched much. Thor is very people orientated, affectionate and demonstrative.
Thor will make a great companion for someone actively looking for a fur-child.
When you are home he will want to be with you. If you segregate him or lock him away Thor will object. When you go away he usually settles after a short time.
He loves people plus giving kiss and cuddles. Thor enjoys his walks and any time he is with his family.
Corgi’s temperament and personality is friendly, playful, outgoing, protective and in many cases stubborn. While they are generally trustworthy and loyal dogs (always eager to please their master) they are also bold, tenacious, outgoing and protective. They are more like working breeds (kelpis, border collies and cattle dogs), then the softer breeds like labradors.
Thor is a typical corgi in that he likes attention but only on his own terms.
Thor was rescued recently from the pound by a woman with cats which understandably did not work out. She placed him with a family who did not have experience with the breed and this has also, understandably, fallen though. The matter is now extremely urgent.
