More About Me
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Spot is a loyal, affectionate and devoted companion. He likes balls to chase and loves squeaky toys. He also loves playing games, leaning on you, sitting on your lap and even watching TV. Regrettably, Spot had a rough start as a puppy and suffered a lot of abuse - the only survivor from his litter. While he has come a long way he can still be startled by sudden movements and requires a quiet, calm environment and slow introductions to new friends.
Spot is not demanding or needy. But you make his day with a cuddle, massage or any type of attention.
Spot is basically well trained - sit, stay, come etc. - and responds to treats as a reward.
He is adorable.
Spot will thrive with owners who are compassionate, understanding, patient and empathetic - and ready for lots of unconditional love in return.
He is fine without human company for half the day but then becomes anxious. He needs to be the only permanent dog and be in a quiet, calm environment with a routine. Spot needs to be involved with his owners' activities.
Will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters, permanent kids or time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Spot will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker. He will suit homes with any of the following:
Medium - playful and moderately active (can miss a daily walk).
Once a day, moderate pace.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles.
Spot is somewhat excited on a walk however, he will "sit" when told to at the curb and will only cross the road on the command "off you go!"
When OFF a lead ...
Like most dogs he is sometimes good and sometimes bad. He will come back if you offer him his favourite biscuit treats. His current owner doesn't let him off the lead.
Type of Yard Required
Spot is not destructive or an escape artist. Spot would like a small to medium secure and interesting yard.
