In order to meet HARRY please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
Harry the silky terrier has a split personality – a 'tiger' and a 'coward' all in one dog. Oblivious to his small stature Harry can portray a ‘tough’ character, up for a challenge and ready for adventure until he realises he is in over his head and then runs away to hide. Always excited to see you and is excitable during any home coming even if you have only been away for 5 minutes. When he calms down he will happily sit quietly beside you
Harry is friendly, joyful, sensitive and extremely affectionate. His mum and dad were show dogs but we don’t have any papers.
He will thrive in a home where he is welcome to be involved with family activities. While he is fine alone during the day Harry would prefer not to be alone for extended periods because he is very people orientated. He will be fine around considerate, older kids.
Harry will not suit homes where residents are very young, frail, elderly, time poor or looking for a baby sitter for a lonely dog because the owners are rarely home.
Yes however, we recommend any kids be teenagers or older and only if gentle and calm around dogs.
Low - short strolls or playtime at home.
How is this dog on a lead?
Harry is well behaved.
How is this dog off the lead?
This adorable 'silky' usually stays close by and comes when called unless he has been allowed to get out and then he pretends not to listen.
No however, he may wander off if a gate or door is inadvertently left open. We recommend Harry has a medium sized secure and interesting yard.
Harry will bark when his owner arrives home until the door is opened. He tends to alert you to something strange or in response to another dog barking close by.
Tolerance to being alone.
Attention, being close to people and a relaxing scratch.
PHOTOGRAPHIC NOTE: Harry hates his photo being taken :-) He looks much happier in real life !! See the movies below.
