More About Me
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
German Shepherds are intelligent, athletic, have an ability to focus, are responsive to their owner and also like to chase things. Mabruk is also good with other dogs off lead, loyal, affectionate, well trained, respectful, calm and friendly.

He likes chasing balls, tug of war, swimming at the beach, walks and being with the family. Mabruk also knows his place in the family hierarchy.

Mabruk is social and friendly with other dogs and will enthusiastically rush up to say hello in a friendly manner however, when he is on a lead he is protective - a GSD trait.

Mabruk is a loving young dog. He is a show line GSD. Both parents are national title winners. Excellent pedigree. He has a sound temperament,  loves people and is a wonderful ally and friend.

Ideal Owner
Active singles or couples that enjoy walking and getting out but also looking for a loyal, steadfast companion dog. Mabruk will sit
for hours next to his owner and loves being with his pack.

Another friendly dog for company would be nice but this is not essential.

While Mabruk is good with kids (he may accidentally knock a small child over through) we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog deserves to be rough housed or exposed to a loud, chaotic environment.

Mabruk will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.

As this GSD is extremely people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.

He will not suit homes with residents that are:
  • very young, frail, elderly,
  • renters,
  • novice dog owners
  • full time workers or
  • time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.

Mabruk will suit any of the following:
  • someone home more often than not.
  • someone that works from home.
  • part time workers.
  • empty nesters.
  • active retirees.

Exercise Requirements
High - will run and run, cannot miss a day. He is currently walked twice a day for 45-60 minutes each time.

When ON a lead ...
He is usually well behaved.

When OFF a lead ...
Sometimes good and sometimes bad.

Type of Yard Required
  • Medium to large interesting and secure.
  • May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
  • Ok with shoulder height fencing.
