More About Benny
Benedict, or Benny to his friends, is a gregarious and typical non shedding ‘oodle' pup still growing into his paws. Affectionate, super smart, playful and definitely "full of beans.''
As he is still a pup, Benny is still a little 'nippy' especially when playing. His new owner will need to commit to ongoing training. Benny is very smart and catches on quickly. He also loves food and treats.
When he calms down he is also very cuddly, affectionate and likes to sit or lie on his family.
A mix of Shih Tzu and Mini Poodle, Benny will have everyone in the family running around, chasing a ball alongside of him. The Shih-Poo (also known as a Shoodle) is a fun-loving and energetic little designer dog. His zest for life is intoxicating. Although he doesn’t need loads of formal exercise, he is determined when he wants to play. Benny will race around the house or run around the yard and at times seems not to have a stop button.
We understand Benny's magnetic personality will draw many applicants to him however, please read his profile carefully before you submit your Expression of Interest.
Please no general enquiries.
Benny will thrive in a home where he is welcome to be involved with family activities. While he is fine alone during the day he would prefer not to be alone for extended periods because he is very people orientated. He will not suit 9am - 5pm full time workers. Benny will be fine around considerate, older kids (see below). He needs to be the only permanent dog in the home - so he can have all your attention.
Will not suit homes where residents are very young, frail, elderly, time poor, renters or looking for a baby sitter for a lonely dog because the owners are rarely home.
Yes. However, Benny wants to be the only permanent dog in the home so he can have all your attention.
Yes however, we recommend any kids be primary school aged or older and only if gentle and calm around dogs. Benny is only a pup and still a little 'nippy' at times.
Medium - playful and moderately active.
How is this dog on a lead?
How is this dog off the lead?
Takes off and won't come back.
Yes, but is learning the word "stay''. He needs a secure and interesting medium to large yard.
No, however he tends to alert you to something strange.
Normal 'puppy' stuff - to be expected.
Mostly - only 7 months old so the occasional accident but is making good progress.
Tolerance to being alone.
Will cope but as he prefers company he will not suit 9am-5pm full time workers.
People - very cuddly (when he stops puppy nipping)
