More About Me
Someone that is active, has space for him to run around, will include him in family activities, go for walks and take him along for outings in the car.
Nugget has not had consistent boundaries. He needs a firm but kind owner able to reinforce positive behaviour - not recommended for novice dog owners.
Nugget should be the only permanent dog in the home.
As Nugget is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters or time poor.
Medium - playful and moderately active (can miss a daily walk).
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
His recall is slow at times if distracted but usually good. As he can be unpredictable around other dogs we recommend he is not allowed off lead.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure. He will dart through an open door. If left alone for extended periods he may chew out of boredom.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker - he can be commanded to stop. He tends to bark when people leave the house but usually settles.
Nugget will suit any of the following:
Nugget prefers company but can cope alone for up to half a day.
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Nugget likes bones, pats, a comfortable bed, warmth, outings in the car and being with people as much as possible. He dislikes the hose and baths.
For some reason Nugget doesn't like wheels ie. bikes, scooters or skateboards. However, with regular training this is likely to improve.
Nugget can sometimes play roughly and hard with other dogs. He has recently been anti social with some dogs and tends to jump up when excited.
He is very friendly and loves people. He will keep you company and make a great companion. He is always happy to see you and will greet you like a long lost love.
