Not available for Interstate Adoption. Other dogs. They are great with new people and love everyone they meet. They are looking for someone who understands that due to previously being isolated they find it hard meeting new doggy friends. With some time and encouragement they are likely to be reliably social again. Cats. We recommend a home without cats even though Tina does tolerate them. Kids. Yes but as they might accidentally knock one over preference will be given to homes with teenagers or not with kids. Size. Max 30 kgs Tina 21 kgs Exercise requirements. Medium. Both are playful and energetic. Tina can get excited initially but calms down. How is this dog on a lead? As is normal they start off pulling but settle down nicely. As they are not accustomed to going for walks this may improve with consistency. How is this dog off the lead? Never tested. Escape artist. No. Nuisance barker or destructive. While they are not currently nuisance barkers, Tina will alert you to something strange, or during storms. Max tends to stay quiet – he likes to chew on something like a toy or a bone. Toilet trained. Yes Tolerance to being alone. As long as they have each other they will be fine in a home with full time workers but as we don’t want them to sleep their lives away, preference will be given where they don’t spend exceptionally large amounts of time isolated from humans. Likes. Max and Tina are extremely affectionate and thrive on human interaction. Max also loves a play in the yard while Tina loves her tummy scratched. They like going for walks too. Dislikes. Max is a big softie and is frightened of storms. Tina is not fond of storms either and can initially whimper in the car. It would be nice if their new owners could provide some soothing and reassurance during storms. Ideal home. Max and Tina will fit in well with many families. They would prefer a medium to large yard and owners who love taking their dogs for walks and generally interacting with their fur-kids. They would be fine with older kids (only due to the dogs’ size). Max and Tina are both people orientated and will flourish in a home that showers them with affection. Generally. Tina frets if separated from Max so you will need to be prepared to go on outings as a family. Both are extremely affectionate. Max is a beautiful soul, gentle despite his size and placid. She is sweet, caring and is comical when jumping around and doing 'donuts' because she's so excited. Both can become excited at times especially if left alone for long periods of time without a walk but this tends to be normal for dogs. History. Max and Tina are almost entirely isolated from people at the moment and are not being exercised or getting out much. They need a home where they will have some interaction with people, have regular walks and lots of time for playful fun. |
