If you would like to meet Logan for a play please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
Logan is a beautiful, playful and affectionate dog that is good around other dogs and gentle with kids. If he has people around him, is played with, walked and fed he is happy. Logan will make a fantastic companion for someone home more often than not.
Logan needs a home where people are either home or able to take him with them if they leave. Around 6 months ago Logan developed a habit of sometimes wanting to escape once people left the property which is currently not secure enough for Logan (a low fence). A recent vet check and blood tests revealed no underlying medication condition. We would like his new owner to have the time, skills and patience to help him work through this newish development.
Logan will not suit homes where residents are very young, frail, elderly or time poor. He will not suit a novice dog owner.
We are re-homing Logan because we are unable to meet his needs of being at home most of the time.
Logan lives with a 3 yr old – they love each other. He is gentle with her when she plays with him. However, as a precaution we recommend any kids who live permanently with Logan be teenagers or older and only if gentle and calm.
Medium – playful and moderately active. He will forgive you if you miss a day but prefers a daily walk. He also loves play time at home.
How is this dog on a lead?
Like most dogs Logan is ok unless distracted and can then pull. The person holding his 'halti' lead needs to be able to handle a strong dog.
How is this dog off the lead?
Logan is usually obedient but can get excited and distracted if there are other dogs around.
He does not tend to dart through open doors or gates. However, he will sometimes try and find his family when they leave the property. He does not like to be without human company and has been found befriending strangers after getting out. He can jump over and dig under fences if they are not secure or at least 6 foot (1.8 mtrs) high. It does not happen all the time but enough to cause trouble where he currently lives as there is a low fence.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
Logan will alert you to something strange near the property but is not currently a nuisance barker. He is not destructive.
Tolerance to being alone.
Over the last 6 months Logan has developed a tendency to hate being left alone without humans. The company of another dog is not enough.
Playing with people, hiding bones, eating treats, cuddles, playing at the park, going to the beach, water and swimming.
Being left alone, fireworks, thunder - all recent fears within the last 6 months.
