More About Me
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Good with dogs, cats and kids Dusty is a friendly, kind, intelligent dog who strives to understand and please.

Dusty is fine alone but thrives on affection and attention. He is very much a people orientated dog.

Ideal Owner
Active singles or couples where there is a male looking for a companion. Dusty seems to bond more closely to men.

Dusty is ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as he is a central focus when people are home.

Dusty would like another friendly dog for company but this is not essential.

While Dusty is good with kids we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog deserves to be rough housed or exposed to a loud, chaotic environment.

Dusty will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.

As Dusty is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.

Dusty will not suit homes with residents that are:
  • very young, frail, elderly,
  • renters,
  • novice dog owners or
  • time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.

Dusty will suit any of the following:
  • someone home more often than not.
  • someone that works from home.
  • part time workers.
  • empty nesters.
  • active retirees.
  • ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as Dusty is a central focus when folks are home.

Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active.

When ON a lead ...
Dusty tends to pull and needs some training on the lead.

When OFF a lead ...
Like most dogs he is ok unless distracted by another dog. Needs some work.

Type of Yard Required
  • Medium to large interesting and secure.
  • May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
  • Ok with shoulder height fencing.
