More About Me
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Affectionate, playful, loyal, fun and generally well behaved.
Murphy is a friendly, loving dog at home. He is ok with other friendly familiar dogs but takes time to warm to new friends socially.
Murphy loves playing games, exercise, some 'me time' in the sun, cuddles, treats and responds well to training. He adores his human family but is not needy.
He dislikes storms, wind and doesn't like sharing food or toys.
Murphy sometimes visits a family farm where he is well suited and very happy - he follows the motor bikes, joins in any farm activities, dozes in the sunny paddocks and runs around by himself - see photos and movies.
Active singles or couples, perhaps with older kids, looking for a low maintenance, loyal companion.
A rural setting without other pets would be ideal.
Murphy rarely wanders off even if given the opportunity. He loves his home.
Murphy prefers company but can cope alone.
While he is good with kids we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers (as he doesn't like sharing food or toys) and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog deserves to be rough housed or exposed to a loud, chaotic environment.
He will not suit suburban homes - only rural settings.
As Murphy is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are:
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Murphy is generally quiet but will alert to something strange. He is not currently a nuisance barker.
Murphy will suit any of the following:
Medium - playful and moderately active.
Loves ball and frisbee games in the back yard.
Also makes a good jogging buddy.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he is ok unless distracted.
When OFF a lead ...
Murphy's recall is usually good however, he is not allowed off the lead in the vicinity of other dogs as a precaution.
