If you would like to meet Jasper please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
Affectionately known as ‘’The Budda,’’ Jasper is usually calm, quiet and obedient. As he also loves the car this makes it easy for you to take him with you on outings or enjoy his company around the home.
He is intelligent and is no one’s fool. Jasper will beg for food so you will need to be able to resist his adorable face. He will also try and get food by staring at you while you are eating and if you tell him to stop he simply moves further away and continues to stare:-) Jasper has a beautiful coat and is very handsome. He is a loyal friend and companion plus extremely cuddly so makes a great lap dog.
Active seniors or middle-aged folks with older kids would be ideal for Jasper. He would prefer to have company more often than not and will be your loyal companion as he loves being around people. He will follow you around the garden and sit next to you when you stop. Jasper is intelligent and needs to have mental stimulation. You will need to have a small to medium sized secure yard and be able to exercise him daily.
He will not suit homes where residents are young, frail, elderly or time poor.
Jasper is fine with other dogs. If another dog has a go at him while passing Jasper may react. As he likes other dogs who are friendly he should be fine if there is another dog in the home.
We recommend any kids be teenagers or older and only if gentle and calm. Jasper does not like food being taken from him.
Jasper loves a good daily walk of around 1 km and adventurers to the park.
How is this dog on a lead?
How is this dog off the lead?
Jasper usually stays close by and comes when called but occasionally stays back to sniff something interesting - he loves to come running towards you if you have walked ahead and are calling him to catch up.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
No although he will alert you when a visitor rings the bell.
Yes. Jasper is a smart dog and if you work full time, ignore him when you are home and prefer an active social life without a dog then he will let you know he is lonely by marking inside in one spot when you return.
Tolerance to being alone.
Jasper sleeps when alone. But he is happiest when his family are not away for really long periods of time.
He loves being a part of your day, being driven around in the car and experiencing new things. Walks and food are huge favourites too – he will do anything for a treat. Most of all he likes attention and affectionate.
He does not like food being taken off him and will react strongly. He may shake if there is thunder and lightening.
