More About Me
Indigo is affectionate, playful, loyal and good with other dogs. Her only vice is that she does not like to share anything that is hers including her family.
As Indigo is people orientated she needs to be part of family activities.
Her new owner will need to manage her tendency to become protective of her family when strangers are around (inside and outside the home).
This is why Indigo needs to be the only permanent dog in the home.
She is ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as she is a central focus when people are home.
She is smart and trainable.
She will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters, time poor or a novice dog owner.
Low - short strolls or playtime at home.
When ON a lead ...
When OFF a lead ...
Stays close by and comes when called.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure. She may take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape. She has never chewed anything and is generally not destructive.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Indigo will suit any of the following:
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Indigo is faithful, affectionate and loyal.
Her emotions can be clearly seen on her face which is cute and endearing. She will run and chase sticks till she has no energy left in the tank. She is also extremely loyal and loving towards her own family - kids and adults.
She loves pats, the beach, catching sticks, bush walks, swimming and affection.
She doesn't jump up and will go to her bed when asked. She will sit and wait for her dinner and only start eating when she is told to. Indigo will enthusiastically greet you like a long lost friend when you first get home but after a little pat, settles.
Indigo has become very protective of the children in her home (whom she adores) and is not happy or predictable when other kids visit hence, she needs a new home.
As Indigo has been a cherished member of the family she may take a little time to settle into her new home but with a little patience and lots of love should be fine.
