Frankie is friendly with calm dogs but can misinterpret the behaviour of an exuberant or boisterous dog. She has also lived in harmony with another placid dog. We suggest that with a dog savvy owner Frankie could be encouraged to be more consistently social with other dogs.
Yes although she may jump up and accidentally knock a small child over. We routinely recommend any kids be primary school aged or older and only if quiet, calm and gentle. Frankie loves to play with kids but we always ask parents to keep it relatively calm.
Medium - playful and energetic. She makes a great jogging buddy.
How is this dog on a lead?
Like most dogs Frankie starts off pulling but settles down. She responds well to consistent training – and even seems to enjoy it.
How is this dog off the lead?
At this stage we don’t recommend Frankie is allowed off the lead as her recall is ok but not consistent.
Frankie needs a secure yard with fences above waist height – otherwise she may launch herself over and out.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
Tolerance to being alone?
Frankie is people orientated and would prefer someone home more often than not. She will not suit homes looking for a baby sitter for their current dog.
Being a typical Staffy, Frankie thrives on human attention and affection. Frankie loves playing, including fetch and tug-o-war. She is very responsive to treats and loves giving ‘cute eyes’ to try and get food from people! Looking for a couch buddy? Frankie is the girl for you. A real snuggle pot. Her little licks are kisses.
Frankie will fret if alone for long periods of time.
Frankie needs a good sized yard to explore and play in. Frankie is a typical Staffy so folks with experience with the breed would be preferable. Frankie would prefer to be the only pet in the home. You will need to be affectionate and very dog orientated. Families with kids would be fine (she loves to play with kids) as long as they are older and dog savvy. Active retirees and folks who work from home would really suit Frankie.
Frankie will not suit homes where residents are very young, frail, elderly or time poor.
Frankie will fret, and even become anxious, if alone for long periods of time because she is really people orientated and adores her human family. You will need to be actively looking for a dog to share your life. In return you will be rewarded with unconditional loyalty and devotion.
Frankie is a smart, quirky and adorable character. So easy to love ☺
