Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Frankie is easy going with other dogs, great with kids, obedient, placid, toilet trained, playful, active and easy to train.
She really is a lovely natured girl.
Frankie is obsessed with her ball - it is a source of great enjoyment for her. At the park she will focus on playing with her ball more than playing with other dogs and will even swim into deep water at the beach to retrieve it !!
Frankie also loves a cuddle on the couch and is very affectionate. She also loves the beach, walks, jogging, people, kids....did we mention balls?
She is very well behaved in the house. If not exercised adequately and given mental stimulation she may chew things in the garden - so she may not suit folks very particular about having a pristine yard. Challenging toys and Kongs keep her occupied.
A person or couple with a little extra time on their hands looking for a companion to share fun times with. While Frankie is fine alone she does prefer company so why compromise for such a lovely natured dog? Hence, no full time workers.
Another permanent friendly dog would be nice but not essential.
Frankie will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with court yards e.g. villas or units.
As Frankie is people orientated she needs to be part of family activities.
She will not suit homes with residents that are:
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Frankie will suit any of the following:
Medium to High - needs daily exercise. 30 mins of throwing a ball for Frankie to retrieve is a favourite past time.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs she starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
Stays close by and comes when called. Very reliable.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure.
May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
Ok with shoulder height fencing - not a jumper.
Reason For Rehoming?
Owner is returning to full time work.
