More About Me
My ideal Owner
Lucas will suit an older owner looking for a companion dog but who understands the quirks associated with Cocker Spaniels.
He wants a quiet life where he is a central focus and does not have to share with other dogs or kids.
Lucas is people orientated and needs to be involved with family activities. He is a little shy and takes time to warm to new friends. This can sometimes be interpreted as him being aloof.
He does not like being rough housed by young kids or startled and may growl to show his irritation.
Lucas would prefer company but can cope alone.
As Lucas can get jealous he needs to be the only permanent dog in the home.
He transitions slowly so will need time and patience to settle into his new home.
He will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters, full time workers, living in apartments or time poor.
Medium - playful and moderately active. Needs a good daily walk.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
He will stay close by and come when called.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large secure and interesting yard. He loves to run around the back yard.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Prefers company but can cope alone.
He will suit any of the following
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Lucas will form a strong bond with those he loves. He is not currently destructive or an escapee and is easy to care for. He enjoys sun baking, going for walks or simply eating a small piece of cheese.
He can be a calm, shy dog who is loyal and eager to spend time with his family. However, he can also be unpredictable especially if startled.
