This devoted pair love their human family and enjoy playing with each other and exploring.
They love people and being made a fuss of. Bindi may take a few hours to warm to new people, especially men. They also love food, squeaky toys that bounce, rides in the car, swimming and visiting extended family.
Both are good with other dogs however, Bindi's over exuberance to play saw her attacked and ever since, she can be a little nervous. Hence, they are always on a lead now.
While they love each other they should be fed separately to avoid any misunderstandings.
Jessie dislikes the clothes horse (go figure) and Bindi finds thunder and fireworks a bit scary. However, more than anything they don't like to be separated.
They are always happy to see you and their love for each other is inspirational.
Active singles or couples, perhaps with teenage kids, but with the time to commit to a regular exercise routine and willingness to shower them with oodles of attention.
Jessie and Bindi are ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as they are a central focus when people are home. They should be the only pets.
While they are good with kids we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog deserves to be rough housed or exposed to a loud, chaotic environment.
They will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.
As the dogs are people orientated they need to be part of family activities.
They will not suit homes with residents that are:
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Jessie will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker. Bindi is generally quiet.
The dogs will suit any of the following:
The dogs are not destructive inside but like most dogs may damage the garden if left alone for long periods of time without appropriate exercise or mental stimulation.
Medium - playful and moderately active. They like a daily walk but also keep each other entertained by playing together.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs Jessie is ok unless distracted - she loves the idea of playing with new doggy friends. Bindi tends to start off pulling but settles - she seems eager to get somewhere.
When OFF a lead ...
Recall is sometimes ok but needs more work.
