More About Me
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
With an affectionate, loyal and playful nature, Piper will make a wonderful companion for a family worthy of this beautiful girl.

Piper loves company and has even attended human primary school - see photos.

Piper is active but also enjoys down time. She likes to run and play but also to cuddle on the couch - she thinks she is a lap dog.

Without a doubt she is happiest around the humans she loves and will 'shadow' them around the home.

Piper is currently good with other friendly dogs. However, due to an attack she can become frightened of other dogs that are anti social and while she is not likely to start an altercation she won't back down if challenged.

Piper is not food driven and grazes throughout the day.

She is a steadfast companion that will happily follow you to the end of the earth.

Ideal Owner
Active singles or couples home more often than not looking for a companion.

While Piper prefers company but can cope alone for up to half a day.

Piper should be the only permanent dog in the home as she likes all the attention.

While very good with children we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog deserves to be rough housed or exposed to a loud, chaotic environment.

Piper will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.

As Piper is people orientated she needs to be part of family activities.

She will not suit homes with residents that are:
  • very young, frail, elderly,
  • renters,
  • novice dog owners or
  • time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker. For the most part she is very quiet.

Piper will suit any of the following:
  • someone home more often than not.
  • someone that works from home.
  • empty nesters.
  • active retirees.
Piper is fine alone for half a day but may then try to escape in search of her humans - especially if she has not had exercise or received attention.

Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active. Piper is fit, active and will run as long as she is allowed.

When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs she is ok unless distracted. Piper is strong and won't suit frail or small owners.

When OFF a lead ...
Recall needs work as she is not usually off the lead.

Type of Yard Required
  • Medium to large interesting and secure.
  • Piper will not wander off when people are home however, requires 6' (2 meter) high fencing that can't be dug under without foot holds when alone.
