More About Me
Gilbert will make a wonderful companion for an active owner ready to share their lives with a 28 kg 'goof ball. Friendly, playful and loyal Gilbert is a typical labrador - fun, full of life and with energy to burn.
He would be well suited to a house with another dog so he can have company but this is not essential. He prefers to have human company for at least half the day otherwise he can become anxious.
As Gilbert is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters, full time workers or time poor.
High - will run and run, cannot miss a day.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
Stays close by and comes when called however, he does not have any road sense.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Gilbert will suit any of the following:
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Gilbert is an active, loyal, loving and some what boisterous doggy who requires quite a lot of attention and exercise. He can also become excited when meeting new friends - human and canine. He is great at the park and is 'full of beans' but then once home calms down and rests.
