More About Me
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Loves other dogs, good with cats, adores his family and is fine with kids.
While he is playful and enjoys outings, he is also a snuggler!! !! He loves cuddles and scratches and is very affectionate.
Mars is very loyal and will bond easily once introduced but can be a little wary of new people - he simply needs a little time to warm up after introductions.
He is a beautiful dog.
Active singles or couples, perhaps with older kids, and definitely with a friendly dog already in the home.
Mars needs the company during the day - either another friendly dog or people.
He is ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as he is a central focus when people are home and there is another friendly dog at home for company.
Mars has never lived without the friendship of another dog and may not do very well if alone.
While Mars is good with kids we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers and only if gentle and calm around dogs.
Mars will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.
As Mars is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
Mars will not suit homes with residents that are:
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Mars will suit any of the following:
Medium - playful and moderately active. Needs regular exercise and mental stimulation.
He loves to go jogging with his current owner - about 4-5 kms daily - and happily keeps up on or off the lead.
Mars is 'chilled out' at home but also loves a game of tug-of-war or chase.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles unless distracted - being 45 kgs he will need a relatively strong owner. Mars sits when asked.
When OFF a lead ...
Mars is usually a well behaved boy - staying close by and coming when called most of the time. As he loves meeting new people he can get a little excited and jump up.
