ON HOLD - ADOPTION PENDING
After reading the profile below, if you would like to meet Jaxon please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
Yes Jaxon is currently very social. At the oval, other dog owners love Jaxon because he’s so endearing. He goes up to every other dog and encourages them play with him. Even grumpy dogs, who rarely play, seem to give in and have fun chasing him around. Jaxon just has a way about him that makes the other dogs all want to play with him.
No Rabbits however, if you have a mouse problem this dogs has a history of catching them.
Jaxon loves kids but he does jump up and lick in excitement. We recommend any kids be teenagers or older because Jaxon is strong.
8 kgs - very strong.
High. Jaxon will run for hours. He needs daily exercise.
How is this dog on a lead?
Like most dogs Jaxon pulls initially when it is time for a walk but he tends to settle down. Jaxon may pull a small or frail person over.
How is this dog off the lead?
His recall is sometimes good but not always reliable, especially if he sees kids at the park – he races over, jumps up and tries to make friends.
Jaxon may take advantage of an open gate to embark on an adventure but is not a digger or fence jumper. Regardless, we recommend a secure yard.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
He will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker. He doesn't currently chew furniture or clothes, choosing a fluffy toy. Those that belong to kids are fair game. He may bury a bone occasionally but is not a ‘digger.’
Tolerance to being alone.
Yes however, in Jaxon’s case, preference will be given to homes where he does not spend ex-tended periods of time alone – another dog or a person. We don’t want him sleeping his life away.
He likes the sunshine, to run, pats, playing with other dogs, being asked to learn new things, people, kids and food. He loves to snuggle under a blanket, watch the action out the front window, playing tug-of-war plus chasing tennis ball and frisbees.
Jaxon is generally easy going, but one thing he hates is being tied up.
He needs a good sized backyard and would also love a doggy friend to play with but this is not essential. Kids need to be teenagers or older because he's too strong for young ones. You will need to commit to daily exercise without exception.
Jaxon will not suit homes where residents are very young, frail, elderly or time poor.
Easy going and accepting, Jaxon will always greet you with excitement and happiness. While he is full of beans he is also a snuggler. Jaxon thrives on affection and just wants to be loved. He will enjoy playing with everyone, human or K-9.
